Ebay find: what is this saddle?
OK, so I'm browsing for used saddles on Ebay and I found this listing:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Used-good-qu...#ht_1440wt_793
Anyone know what this is? It looks really big to me. I seem to remember seeing something very similar in a tack shop and wondering about it. I'm in the market for a 17.5 forward flap saddle-- and while the price here is amazing, I have no clue what this saddle is.

I've seen one similar on ebay recently that I think had a brand. Do a search of ended auctions and you may find it.

I had a saddle like that back in the 80's...don't remember the maker, but it rode really well. This one looks a little worse for wear, but a good re-flocking might do wonders!

Wow, it looks like an old Parianni monoflap. I evented in one, back in the day, and LOVED it. It's hard to tell the condition, other than to see it definitely needs reflocking.

So, do you all think this might be a good idea for an eventer on a budget? How pricey is reflocking? I'm currently riding in a POS I've had for about 20 years, and a new saddle is not in the cards for me.

It's a medium/narrow. Couple that with being an old Pariani and it may be quite narrow.
It's been for sale on eBay for a long time -- several cycles. That leads me to believe it's overpriced.

I think that it is a Pariani Olympic. I love Parianis, but that saddle must be 40 years old. Way over-priced.

I used to have a saddle just like that. I have no idea what brand it was -- complete no-name. Great saddle, though. I sold it for $450 plus shipping a few years ago. The buyer was thrilled -- she loved it. Kind of wish I had kept it, but I did replace it with a BC Vinici Monoflap (Of course, sold that and ride in Ansur now.)
A total reflock will run around $200, probably a bit more.

I sold my Pariani at least 6 years ago for $250 and I sold it because the flaps are WAY forward. You need to ride really short and have really long legs.

Heck Enjoytheride...wish I'd needed it THEN! I can't FIND saddles with forward enough flaps for LONG legs on a little pony! lol.
