UPPERCO wins the first round with all correct answers for farm owners...

For bonus points answer ALL 3 parts of the following:

WHO was Emmerson Burr's famous brother ?
WHAT was the name of the farm he managed ?
WHAT was the name of the horse which fell with him, effectively ending his riding carreer ?

Em's brother Raymond was only at Fairfield for about 5 years. I was at his farm in Ocala a few years before he died, but I don't remember the name of it.
I think Conrad's bad fall was at Tampa.

I thought all the questions referred to Em.

Thus I meant Em ran the Fairfield since 1945

Sorry Shorty, don't remember the horse. But he was in the jumper's and it was at that far corner, where the ring narrowed, right after the corner. Wasn't it a wall??

How bout Foxwood Farm in Kimberton for Raymond's farm and there, the grey cells are slowing down again.

I thought Conrad's bad fall was at Tampa, and the horse was Abdullah.

The only part of Shorty's ? I knew has already been answered so...guess I don't win a cruise today!

Abby, the Dr. was not one of the grooms I had in mind, although that seemed like an eternity ago. The caretakers I had in my mind preceded Dr. G's tenure. But, as they say, "thanks for the memories." LOL

Hey, what's LaurieP on holiday today?

I can come up with three: Luke (Ragland), Speedy, David. Jimbo also comes to mind, but was he a "fixture?" Any hints?

And yes, I am most definitely on vacation (til the 2nd!!!), hence my absence from this machine that rules my life!

And you were correct on the Foxwood grooms; wish I had a scanner, as I have a group picture of them from an old PH article on Frances.

Can you name the farm Frances ran prior to Foxwood and for whom?

You have named some of the fixtures although I would have to add Norman Woffrey to that list. I wish I had a scanner too as I have a great guess the horse, guess the groom photo.

Didn't Injun Joe become Nautical "The Horse with the Flying Tail"? If so, he was ridden by Hugh Wiley.

And I seem to remember that Harry Deleyer found Snowman at a very unlikely place. Perhaps an auction?

Oh, oh......#2 Snowman purchased at the New Holland Sales Auction. Oh lord, now I am rethinking that, LOL. It was an auction, but which one.. ah well.

#1 Injun Joe, gee all I can think of was Gene Estep...????? Was he renamed Shannon Castle?

Slower than molasses, I can see LaurieB already has the right answers....
