Watching the news like the rest of you.
I'm praying to god that all of my friends and all of my co-workers are alive and well that worked in the section of the pentagon that was hit.
I'm watching Jet fighters and helicopters fly over my roof.

This is absolutely unreal.
Life as we know it will forever be different.
With The amount of people that have died, it is entirely possible that each and every one of us knows someone who has died.
I'm praying their deaths were quick...and sending prayers to families.

I can't even begin to realize what it must be like to be in the middle of all the chaos. I can't even begin to express the sorrow I feel for the families, victims, survivors and our whole country. As you stated, we will never be the same. Before all of this we felt very comfortable living here. "Things like this only happen elsewhere"...something as catastrophic as this had never crossed my mind. God Bless America and again, my thoughts and prayers with us all! Natalie

I got back from my 9am class and heard about it - ran to my friend's room to watch TV and she was crying b/c her mom works 2 blocks away from the World Trade Center and wasn't answering her calls. I'm here in my room IM'ing my friends b/c my phone is pretty useless - managed to call my parents & trainer earlier though to let them know everything was okay. We're all in shock. It's like some bad movie. We had a all campus meeting and I held my friends hands and just stared in shock - how could this happen? What's next?

How often have I wondered, "How do the people in the middle east and Northern Ireland, to name just a couple of places, where civil war is a part of life, live with that fear?" It has always been beyond my comprehension.

Today it IS in OUR BACKYARD, on our block, affecting each and every one of us.

The OKCity bombing was numbing, but it was from within. This is the scariest violation of our national security.

It is beyond expression.......

I'm so close to all this it's horrifying. My emotions are on a roller coaster right now; I'm laughing and almost in tears by turn. This is impossible to comprehend.....I find myself thinking that it can't be real. I guess it will take a while to sink in. Pearl Harbor and the Oklahoma City bombing combined, only much, much worse than we can imagine. [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif[/img]

And sat listening to F-14's fly overhead.
You can hear the suckers coming, but cant see them anywhere. The helicopters are visible flying overhead...Complete with the White house seal underneath.
Anybody spend anytime outside? The crickets are unusually loud.

Is it just me, or did anybody elses horses act strange for the last 24 hours?

Fairweather - I'm in Montgomery Village and the jets were over my house several times this afternoon. It certainly made the whole situation hit home to hear those suckers overhear. They are definitely quite loud. My dad is on Riggs Rd were they have an underground FEMA facility (just down the street from Oatlands) and he said there were lots of helicopers flying in and out.

Being near the center of power is great during the good times but definitely scarry now. Although I don't have any close friends that work at the Pentagon or were flying to LA from Dulles, as a native of the area it is quite possible that an former schoolmate or friend has been involved. I guess all I can do is pray and give blood later in the week. Even if there are not a lot of survivors so many are burn victims and they often need multiple surgeries.

Although most everyone in my office hasn't come in yet. One of my co-workers just called to say that his daughter (Ring E, the outer wall of the Pentagon where the plane hit) hasn't been accounted for. It looks like the worst. [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif[/img]
