Chronicle Forums>Forum>Discussion Forums>Off Course> Hey all you Old Timers, go through your files and post those pictures of "when I was a young'n" (please, they must be from before Reagan was prez)
It's strange to think, if we're looking back at pictures from 25-30 years ago and thinking "If only riding was like that now," then try to imagine what riding will be like in 25-30 years!
Lord Helpus, the show in the last one I posted was Huntington Valley. Here's another one of Rommel, probably 1968, at the Sugartown Horse Show, which was also in eastern Pennsylvania.
1972 - just_me and Jeffrey Pooka at Catamount in Suffern NY. It's not a great shot, but I've never posted this one before.
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint - it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... timey wimey... stuff.
What a great group of pictures!..Found one I haven't posted before - a very faded photo from Hot Springs Horse Show, 1966. I am riding a horse of Rodney Jenkins' named "Free Union" in the VHSA.
1973 - please note the "I think I'm gonna die!" expression along with the firmly grasped (white knuckles) mane. They roached the whole mane except for 3 inches that I could grab on to - my "handlebars"...

I'll post tomorrow, got a little whiplash this evening from a spry youngster (which I am starting to realize that I am NOT anymore) who decided to do a rapid sidepass followed by a faster turn on the forehand a,d then piaffe the other direction followed by a buck. I need my heating pad!
