I have a 3y/o very well socialized and friendly Beagle/Aussie mix. She is very much a mama's girl and goes pretty much everywhere with me.
I had to go out of town this week so I left her with my barn manager/friend who has a wonderful setup for her, and it is a very familiar place. She has 2 dogs (and older Dane and a younger pitty) that Maggie LOVES. I thought it was a perfect fit.
BM calls me about 3 days after I left informing me that my dog has become aggressive towards her dogs in the house, especially over food. I told her to please discipline as she feels necessary but she ended up separating Maggie from the others inside. Outside they play like they're best friends.
What is causing this? Is she just overly stressed because I'm gone? It is because she's not used to eating in front of other dogs? How does one correct that behavior??
BM has said that she's relaxed some as the week has progressed. I will be home late Thursday night to get her.
