He's really not that good looking. At least he doesn't appear to be my type. His voice is...well...stupid sounding. You know? He SOUNDS like an idiot. Actually, my boyfriend was the one who pointed out that he both looks and sounds like "Puddy" from Seinfeld.

I cringed the whole time he rode. No leg...no seat (though I'm sure the view from "behind" was nice wqhen he tried to two-point the canter). I was only impressed that he could ground mount in jeans!

The women...blech! The only two I liked were Zora (sweet and innocent...I wanted to cry for her when she didn't have a dress), and the girl with the nice smile.

I can't wait to see these "princesses" shovel it!

    "All Hail President Kang!"

I'm pretty sure he's been back in VA, where in VA beach - you CAN live for $19K. Heck I'm going to have to figure out how to do it for not much more than that in Northern VA!! http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...icon_smile.gif

Wow, I am so clueless. I hadn't heard of it, my my daughter had, and we stayed up long enough to see him ride the horse. Nice stables, kind of feisty horses. I thought he did well considering he had never ridden. Yes, the horse was a saint, and it sure looked like it was going to launch him as he galloped away.

My guess too is that there will be some sort of twist at the end just to keep us guessing. Personally he is not my type, but he has nice teeth. Like Jennasis I too thought "Puddy" from seinfeld. Kind of a doofus guy, but thanks Robby...a well hung fellow. Leave it to the gay contingent on the bb to provide the good photos of the guy http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...on_biggrin.gif

So, now I am going to be stuck watching this dumb show to see how it ends......

OK! THANK YOU! My roommate and I are the same age as many of the girls and we kept looking at eachother saying, "Do we look THAT old?"

Too funny! My daughter and I instantly agreed we'd rather be at his stable, then when we saw the previews for next week, mucking stalls, we were like "yeah, we could do that!"

I do payroll for a construction company...it is in Canada so you'll have to do the currency conversion for yourself... Construction workers can make a wack load of money (especially if they are unionized) For example a guy working a hoister (don't ask what that is... I guess its hoists things http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...on_biggrin.gif and all the guy has to do apparently is push a button) gets $25.75 an hour. AND if he works overtime its double that( so $51.50!!!!!) Operators make a lot more $$$ than labourers though. Right now here the rate is $23.48/hour. So if that guy is making only $19,000 a year he either barly works or like another poster said lives in the backwoods of Montana!!! http://chronicleforums.com/images/cu...milies/lol.gif

LOL, I thought that too that they looked older--or well worn or something.

Those ladies (and I use the term lightly), were really out for blood-witness the nastiness with the dresses.

My bet is they are going to be SO PISSED when they find the guy is a nobody-gold diggers, social climbers, whatever, they sure just looked like a bunch of whining nasty women to me.

And seeing them in the stables for next week made me laugh....oh gawd, the heartache of having to shovel crap! LOL-I would have been out in those stables in a heartbeat. They had nice arenas-don't know what kind of horses those were though-high headed a bit, and hot. What do you all think they do with them? I missed the beginning-is that chateau the kind of place normal people can go and ride kind of thing? Vacation-y for the rich or something? Just curious is they told about it.

Yep, I say we are in for fireworks when these women find they've been duped, and boy are they gonna look bad when they see themselves looking so greedy http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...on_biggrin.gif

Thank god, Jennasis... I thought I was the only one who actually found him somewhat unattractive.

We also thought that many of the girls lied about their ages... I remember thinking "wow... she's a year younger than me. Do I really look that old???" (I'm 25).

Oh my... I was dying when he was riding.
I honestly felt bad for him.. He was trying to
impress all these girls for the first time riding this horse. They were clueless, he did pull it off.

That horse was a true sport.. I thought they would have him on a dead quiet schooling horse but no. That horse had some go to him which was impressive to me. I totally thought he was going to fall off at the canter or the horse was going to bolt due to his lack of balance. I can imagine what my face looked like at that scene.

I also would want to muck the barn just to see it. That place was awesome.

Can't wait to watch those prissy's muck the manure!http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...icon_smile.gif Especially that blonde with all the eye make up.. I can't remember her name, but she bugs....

I like the brunette with the cute smile, she seems genuine.http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...icon_smile.gif

I went to salary.com and found that in Newport News, VA, the salary range for a construction worker who operates a grader, bulldozer or scraper is from $26,405 - $38,895. Since he has enough experience to train new employees, he probably makes towards the upper end.

Maybe he changed jobs or something and only made $19k last year, or got hurt (very likely in construction) and was off for some time. Or maybe that is his take home pay after taxes etc are taken out.

But I was also impressed by his riding and obvious comfort level with the horse. He stated that he had never ever ridden a horse before.

    Wow, the mind boggles

Caught a few minutes of the program last night. Would agree with those who found "Joe" dumb and somewhat unattractive - the Cro-Magnon brow just doesn't do it for me.

Laughed at the association between wealth and riding - it's so ingrained in our culture that only the wealthy ride that they house Cro Magnon Boy in a chateau with its own stable.

The women... http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...n_rolleyes.gif Surely, there are easier ways to nab a rich man than to publicly reveal themselves as snivelling, shallow, gold-diggers.

I agree completely! Someone here said he was "simple." Even his smile makes him look not too bright, and those pics on Robby's site, he looks like a big dummy. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c.../icon_wink.gif

Didn't see the show, but looked at the website....there is no WAY someone with a construction job PLUS all the different modeling "gigs" they listed could only make $19K. I smell a rat (or a twisted plot) somewhere in there!!!

    Ick though--not my type either http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...s/icon_eek.gif http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...s/icon_eek.gif

I agree--there has GOT to be a plot twist somewhere that Fox isn't telling us about. I also must admit to gleefully giggling while watching him riding....sad thing is, at this point I ride in a very similar fashion http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...n_rolleyes.gif.

Hate to say it, but I have a feeling I'm going to end up watching every awful episode.

Hey, it's a game show. If I were one of those girls, I'd be playing the role of the rapacious golddigger to the hilt -- and I'd be assured of more than my share of screen time.

But how could you not admire a show that dismissed the 'losers' with the following order: "All of you girls who did not receive a necklace: PLEASE LEAVE THE CHATEAU!

I think the whole thing is a big farce. My theory is that all the girls are actresses, and they know what's going on. "Evan" is a model turned actor who thinks he is lying to the girls, pretending to be a millionaire, but he won't find out until the end that he is being lied to, also! Just a thought.
