    Default ?? about USEA membership

I am registering for my first ever recognized HT - Golden Spike in June. EXCITED! I will be riding at BN and don't plan on going to any other events this year. Do I need to join USEA, if so the full vs supporting, or just pay the $25.00 non usea fee. TIA

At beginner novice you do not have to join- you will have to pay a non-member fee with your entry ($25? I think)

Nope, you don't have to join USEA. :-) Not till Novice.

While you don't have to join USEA, I would join. There's a good bit of value in being a member and it's an important connection to the eventing community.

I realize that the non-member fee ($25) is not the same as dues. Dues are higher. Still for the extra bucks, you get so much more. I would hate to pay $25 for nothing, which is what the non-member fee is doing for you.

Have fun at Golden Spike! I used to love that event when we lived in Utah.
Some nights I stay up cashing in my bad luck; some nights I call it a draw. -- fun.

When I joined USEA about 10 years ago, they credited one, maybe both, of the $25 non-member fees I had paid towards my membership. So perhaps if you join next year you'll get the same deal.
One of the benefits of membership is the awesome magazine, BTW.
