    Default Barns near Huntington, WV?

I am moving to the Huntington, WV area this summer, and would LOVE barn recommendations for my two horses!

I've been in contact with a few local eventers, but no leads have panned out. The one barn that 'might' have one opening later this summer only does 2hrs of turn-out daily! And I've been told that 4hrs is usual up there. Here's a list of who I've contacted: Caleb's Mountain Ranch, Eagle Wing Farm, Riverbend Stables, Royal Emperor, Freedom Farms, and the Stables at Meadowview.

Since I honestly can't imagine keeping either of my horses in their stalls for 20hrs/day 'just because', I'm desperately seeking COTH wisdom for other options.

    Ideas?? TIA!

You've covered most of the options, I would have suggested Pam or Robin. Only other alternative is probably finding a private farm for turnout. Unfortunately, finding the right one can be tough. You might try a CL Huntington ad or a paid ad in the Herald Dispatch. Other resources would be local vets (try Equine Medical Center in Proctorville, OH) or feed stores. Or if you know/meet someone with Mid-South membership, call everyone listed from Huntington. Or call the equine program at Ohio University southern (Ironton, OH).

    Good luck.
