OTTB critique, bored with these yet?
What do you conformation gurus think? http://www.apinchofluck.com/Brat_Pitt.html
Long pasterns, obviously. Are they too long to work for an eventing career?
The hock area looks a little weird maybe, or is it just me?
Anything else on that horse that would cause problems for eventing? Could he still be a competent eventer, even with the long pasterns? Are they even THAT long, or am I exaggerating it in my head?
Thanks in advance!

I think you're exaggerating in your head. They might be a tad long. He could have been stood up better for the confo pic, but I don't see anything that screams he couldn't be at least a low level eventer.
I think he's cute... go check him out!

This is a very goodlooking horse, but too squared up in front where it doesnt showcase his lovely shoulder. If anything, he toes in on both fronts

I'd at least try to go take a look at him in person if you can

How will being too squared up in front affect his performance? I can ask for a frontal picture to see his front legs better.

The photo is kinda small and only 1...it would be hard to render any real opinion, he looks cute, shiny and nice white...can't see the feet either....am I missing a photo link??

He's a little thick in the throatlatch and I find his neck a little short, but he really does have such a nice shoulder and level topline. I don't really like his eye, I would definitely check him out in person.

I think she's referring to the way he's standing. It doesn't not show off his nice shoulder. You should really go see this guy in person if you like him. Not to mention... I would love to have a horse named Brad Pitt!!! hehe!

If you want I can email you some more pictures of him. I went to see her new horses last weekend and i'm trying Brat this weekend (possibly El Muneco as well). Brat acts like a tough guy but he's really a sweetie. Definitely still a baby but I love working with the babies...fingers crossed all goes well this weekend If you'd like me to take pictures of any other horses while i'm there i'd be happy to

I don't think the pasterns are bad at all. Then again, I think I have a greater tolerance for long pasterns in TBs than some. I don't think the hocks are weird either, in that pic. It does look like he has ankles, in the larger pic. I don't love the way his neck is set on, but with work and topline the appearance will improve.
Overall I like him, and think you should definitely check him out in person as it can be hard to glean all this from a single photo.

Thank you! Why don't you like his eye?

Good luck! By tough guy, does he act mean or something like that?
If you don't end up buying Brat, I'd love to see some more pictures of him! and if you could take some pictures of Knuckles Cooper, that would be awesome! Thank you so much!

I'd be more concerned about how upright his pasterns are than how long they are. They're quite upright and don't match his shoulder at all. Agree with the thick throatlatch, and he looks a bit downhill from stifle to elbow. Can't see his feet, but somehow I get the impression he has smallish feet. But overall, he's very cute and nothing screams dealbreaker.

It just seems small and piggy to me. But it might be hard to tell from the pictures. I usually go for a bigger, softer, eye. Old wives' superstition but seriously, looking for a kind eye works!

I don't think he has a small piggy eye at all! It looks soft and kind in his head shot.
I like him, he is a total cutie, and there is nothing about his conformation that will pose a problem (if he is sound).
Pasterns are fine, angle is fine...he is a well-put together horse. The only thing if I'm being picky is the shortish neck and thick throatlatch. Other than that, his angles and proportions are very nice. I bet he is a nice mover, but will need to learn how to stretch over his topline.

To me, it looks like they match pretty well, but I'm not so good at picking apart conformation haha. I'm glad there are no deal breakers.

I don't think it looks piggy. I thought it looked very kind when I first saw his picture. My friend adopted a mustang from the Mustang Makeover competition, and he is veryyy pig eyed, but he is one of the most honest horses. She is a beginner and he takes her over 2'9"+ with no questions asked, and doesn't have a spook in him. I used to hate pig eyed horses, but that mustang changed me
