Just got in from the yard.
Did not do much...crawled around the front yard a bit, finally putting the daffodils in I had dug up a few weeks ago, before my grass cutting guy comes back in a week or so to mow the wilting leaves and I can't tell where my row is anymore...
I am happily sitting here, not thinking much of anything, when on some odd notion I actually LOOK at what is tickling me on the arm....
A nasty TICK, ready to find a nice hide-away spot to settle in for lunch!
YUCK, I hate ticks!!!

ah yes, the good old days of getting home from the barn after sidewalking little kids out in the woods... taking off all my clothes in the middle of the kitchen...shaking all the ticks out onto the yellow linoleum floor, and squashing them with the edge of a teaspoon...
We're doing tick check about four times a day and checking the bedding too, since the cats sleep on the bed sometimes. So far our record is five in the bedding at one time. It really makes it hard to sleep when every_single_itch makes you wake and claw at the potential offender. This warm winter into early spring has some drawbacks!
I was out trail riding yesteday - picked a few off my horse, then today I found one right in the middle of my back ! I got it off but it itches like crazy . I've been scratching it with a wooden spoon LOL
