    Default Child's Hunt Coat dilemma

DD is a peanut.. turning 9 next month and needs a new hunt coat. The trouble is that we tried on some RJ classics this past weekend and the 6's are too small and the 8's are WAY too big in the shoulders. Are there any hunt coats that are cut slimmer than RJ's?

I don't know brands, but I always had to have mine altered when I was a junior. If you have the tailor leave the extra material in (rather than cutting it out) the coat may be able to be let out as she grows.
Although, re-reading your post, I had the opposite problem- too small in the shoulders too big everywhere else. Taking in shoulders may be more difficult.
    Sorry...

ha ha, you need to FEED that kid! Did you try other brands? Grand Prix maybe? or get it tailored, or just deal with floppy shoulders

Default Have you tried Horse Country?

Their house brand is not as boxey as the RJs.

Grand Prix coats are cut much slimmer than RJs. I can't wear an RJ to save my life - never have been able to - but GPs fit me really well.

Beaufort & Sigma's run slimmer than RJ's. Good luck!

myalter, I'm not sure, but I believe so. I think I wore GP coats when I was a wee one, and I was always peanut-sized too

My sister was tall, but skinnier than a pencil, and wore GP coats very comfortably. They may be a good solution for her.

yes OP, my daughter now has about 4 GPs hanging in the closet with another on the way. They are my favorite and definitely you should be able to find one in an 8... in fact, yet again, Middleburg Tack probably has something.
