    Si, I think the term "foxhunting" is a sort of term of art in the USA for any hunting with horses and packs of dogs. Since many of our foxes are coyotes and hunting here usually means gunhunting, foxhunting would include drags and mounted hunting after harriers.

    Walking behind beagles might be a different thing, although I know the COTH has beagling packs in its Hunts directory.

    Actually, calling it a HUNTING forum might be a good idea, then it could encompass the beagles, harriers, bassets, staghounds, etc.

    (or, better yet, call it hunting with hounds...)

    By the way, believe me, beagles can FLY - hunting hare behind a good pack of beagles (or English bassets, for that matter) requires a runner's fitness and physique! No joke!
