Talking Break out the insulin, ladies & gentlemen... (pony photo + video)

We have harness! Panda-chan & I went out to Driving Clinic Guy's place today to check out some used leather pony harness that a friend of his had. It initially looked like his big brother's pajamas on him, but DCG got it adjusted and tweaked so it fits - at least well enough for ground-driving, and DCG says we could hitch to a cart today and be just fine.

I'm just a TAD too risk-averse for that, but I'm looking forward to some ground-driving practice with actual brakes.

DCG ground-drove him around a bit, attracting rather a lot of interest from DCG's "Fat Chicks". He thought they were pretty hot, too. (I distinctly heard him singing, "Fat-bottom girls, you make the rockin' world go 'round" )

Anyway, DCG's opinion was that he HAS been driven before, but probably not very well - most likely just taken out on the road and allowed to trot as fast as he wanted.

As he was driving him back to the hitching rail, DCG said, "Haw" and cued him with the lines - and Panda-chan hawed like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth. I know it could be coincidence, but it made this pony-mama very proud

Attached is Panda-chan hitting on one of the Fat Chicks.

Hey -- a guy can dream, can't he?

He's so cute, those fat chicks don't know what they're missing!
    They're not miniatures, they're concentrates.

I am just GREEN with Equipment Envy.

Panda looks smokin' in his new getup.

Get the boy a ladder, for crissake
So he can properly introduce himself to the FCs.

I am now living vicariously through you, RAR, since my cobbled-together driving "harness" needs adjustment to fit my pony in his new Spring Fitness AND you have a trainer nearby.

    Some day........the Kouma-pony & I will catch up
*friend of bar.ka*RIP all my lovely boys, gone too soon:

    Another "awwwwwww!!!!!"

RAR - time for you to get serious now. Your #1 priority is ... to start shopping for ladies driving hats.

I've actually been thinking about getting one of those fancy helmet covers that look like hats - maybe with a feather!

But I think my next purchase priority probably needs to be a cart.

The mare, BTW, is one of his smaller mares. She's only 16.3, about 1600 lbs.

I *think* this video should be available to the public - I was able to see it without being logged in to Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/video/video...=3356800832227

It's Panda-chan's first ground-driving adventure in his new (used) harness.

He did a far better job of being driven than I did of videoing, unfortunately!

But you can see the Fat Chicks scurrying around in their pen as he goes past, and you can see him march right over the forecart tongue towards the end.
