No Henny at Badminton?
Just seen a message on HJU
Sadly, Peter Atkins & Henny will not be going to Badminton. He had a stupid accident & is currently in the ER (the human).
How very sad was really looking forward to seeing him.

I can't find it on their fb Run Henny Run? I am so sorry if this is true.
Peter wouldn't be the first rider to be sidelined by injury just before Burghley or Badminton. 4* riders with a ticket to one of the 4*'s need to be wrapped in cotton wool, I guess ...

Peter and Henny Out of Badminton
What a bummer. Sadly, we wont get to see Peter Atkins and Henny (HJ Hampton) riding at the Badminton Horse Trials. He is currently in the ER with a broken tibia & an injury to his ankle: Henny shied and tripped over a stone and went down on me. Stupid accident.
Thankfully Henny is ok & as Peter said: better me than him.
They are hoping to reroute to Luhmhlen.
We are soooo sorry that we wont get to see Peter & Henny at Badminton and wish Peter a speedy recovery.

Major bummer! Just glad if he had to be injured it was his leg and not his head. Amazing how a horse like Henny can have a silly accident. But they are, after all, horses and even the best horse, with the best rider can have a spook, trip and go down.
Experience is the hardest teacher. The test comes first, the lesson afterward.

There is a short video of Peter in the ER on EN with a homemade splint on his leg.

From the Run Henny Run FB Page...
I write this with a heavy heart as I have to withdraw Henny from Badminton due to a freak accident this morning. I have broken my ankle and still awaiting full diagniosis and prognosis. As soon as I have that I will update this page and let all of our amazing supporters know my plan for Henny. I am still hopeful that I can continue our bid for the Olympics. Thank you all for your support and we will address Henny's schedule as soon as I have more information.

I tolerate all kinds of animal idiosyncrasies.
I've found that I don't tolerate people idiosyncrasies as well. - Casey09

I feel really bad for them!
If you read the EN article and see all the frustrations and disappointments it is hard to believe they keep trying!! This is such a tough sport! My hats off to Peter and his team and I hope they can regroup and get going soon!
