It is a medium-deep seat; deep enough for "stick," but I don't feel like I can't get out of it. I personally find it comfortable. I use mine (a '97) for multi-hour fox hunting, and have no issues.

Rode one for awhile when Butet was in the shop, about 10 years or so ago, probably a late 90s model.

Found it the same as bluedapple, medium deep, not sticky.

But I was showing Hunters and it put me a little back, more suited for jumping decent sized stuff and uneven terrain, not pretty 3' ramped oxers in a sand ring. I would love it for actually jumping outside or hunting. Nice choice.

Do you mean the "PJ Original"?

Mine's about 10-12 years old I think? Compared to popular saddles today, it doesn't have a deep seat. The PJ was a little ahead of it's time and most French saddles have similar seats, particularly the CWD. I couldn't tell a lot of difference between the CWD I've ridden in and my old PJ. The Antares looks similar, too.

My PJ has been VERY durable. I take fairly good care of it, but it's just now starting to show some wear on the pommel, flaps above the stirrup buckles and the stitching under the stirrup leathers. I have the pebble grain leather with a French calf seat. It's never had anything but glycerin and pure neatsfoot oil applied to it and it has held up wonderfully to about 10-15 rides a week.

The original is deepest. Known as the Virtuose.

The pro is semi deep. Known as the Partion. The twist is a little further back than the Virtuose and the flap is a little more forward (on similar seat and flap sizes) To me it is a little more of a "chair seat" than the Virtuose.

The lite is the Athena. It was the flattest of the Delgrange line until we released the Rivolli.

We also know make a child's saddle known as a Niño.

The flaps are "L" which is straighter, "A" which is forward and "X" which is xtra forward. The "A" flap is the most popular.

Feel free to ask me another questions
