    Default weekend cabin trip

We did our annual April birthdays trip this weekend, to Meadowcreek Mountain Resort in the Cherokee National Forest. It was gorgeous weather.

Heading out for the first ride...

It was a girl's weekend, but at the last minute, my 12-year-old son asked to join us. I'm so glad he came!

The only proof that I was there and riding, lol. I'm always behind the camera.

How was your stay? I was there 2 years ago with a group of us, and have to say, we were not exceptionally thrilled with the service and/or hospitality. The facility for the horses, with the arena and bath-house were quite nice...but, there were a lot of "buts."

That was our experience, exactly. This was my third trip (using a credit from the last trip where they messed things up). This trip, nobody knew a thing about the trails. The water trough was full of sludge, there wasn't a hose (although they brought us one, eventually). About half the lightbulbs in the house were burned out, and the hot tub wasn't hot. They told us the restaurant was open until 7 at night, but when we got there at 6, it was locked and vacant. I keep saying that the place has so much potential, but the customer service (although they seem to mean well), is terrible. I'll probably go back, if they keep offering great deals, but you need to be sure you are self-sufficient when you arrive, rather than assuming they will be helpful.
