Default Event/Dressage trainer near Umass Amherst

I am going to Umass Amherst in the fall (!!!) and am hoping to continue riding at school. So, a question to all of you wise, New England COTH'ers, where is there a good trainer within 30 mins of the the school? I am from the north shore of MA so I am pretty unfamiliar with the area. I have been riding at the Novice level for the past year. The person does not have to be a big name, just a someone who can keep me going during the school year in either eventing/dressage/showjumping. I am a little skeptical about the sj...Thanks!

I enjoyed my lessons at Smith College when I went there. Mostly hunters, but they're super close. They'd probably be able to recommend someone. I was only there for a semester though, so I don't know much more than this

UMass also has an IHSA team. Possibly not for you (I think theirs was the barn full of Morgans? Don't remember) but they will know someone.

Depends if you have your own horse or looking for lesson horses. But if I were in western MA I'd ride with Stephie Baer. She's in Orange - about a half hour from
Amherst. And of course King Oak is in North Hampton.

Steffie Baer is in the area. She's got a great reputation. She's about a half hour from UMass.

Small world! I'll be going to UMass in the fall too! I'm from a bit farther away than you are(Chicago, IL). But I'm looking to take lessons while I'm out there too!
