    Default Mouse droppings in hay

I just bought a few bales of nice second cut hay yesterday. When I unloaded, there were a lot of mouse droppings with the chaff in the truck. I've opened 3 bales and there doesn't seem to be any inside the hay. It's really nice hay, but I'm a bit grossed out. I've had horses all my life and I've never seen something like this. What to do? Is shaking it all out carefully before feeding enough?

ewww... I'd get rid of it, and if you have any influenza type symptoms soon, get to the emergency room.

    Google 'hantavirus'.

Several people here have died from it. One was a nurse who died 24 hours after burning wood in the stove that had mouse urine and droppings on it.

Is there a barn with out mouse droppings in it?

I think that is a far better question.
