Default TV reminder - SAT Apr 7th: SA Derby, Wood, IL Derby, Ashland S.

NBC Sports (not Versus) will have a 90-telecast starting at 4:30-6 p.m. ET today

The Santa Anita Derby, the Resorts World Casino New York City Wood Memorial, and the Central Bank Ashland Stakes for fillies.
Then nationally Super-Station WGN will air at 6 p.m. EST - 7 p.m. EST the Illinois Derby. The race should go off about 6:46 EST.

All races, with exception of the IL Derby and Ashland, can be seen on HRTV. Every race will be on TVG, too.

Alas there are several quality graded races on the Aqueduct besides the Wood Memorial which are telecast worthy on the big network but simply not enough time.

Enjoy folks as Keeneland should look beautiful. Stephanie's Kitten (named for Mr/Mrs. Ken Ramsey granddaughter) should be a rout in the Ashland but this is racing and who knows

Poor old Aqueduct, it's going to look like a WalMart parking lot next to bucolic Keeneland and stunning Santa Anita on TV today.

Steph's Kitten looking rusty. Maybe a rethink of a the Ascot trip after today?

Big giant BOOOOOO HISSSSSSS to NBC for their crap coverage of the Wood - no post parade coverage, crap sound for Tom Durkin's call until they hit the backstretch - ugh.

I'll give 'em a bit of credit for coverage of Lava Man ponying I'll Have Another in the SA Derby.

Otherwise my thumbs hurt from rotating between TVG, HRTV and NBC.

Alpha rocked today getting shuffled all over the place and fighting on against the very impressive (but slightly ADD in the lane) Gemologist. And he was a good boy in the gate, too.

SA Derby was really fabulous, a real slugfest. CC is still a monster in my book though he came in 2nd.

Anyone catch the 10th at Aqueduct? Jackson Bend, Shackleford, and Caleb's Posse had a nice battle at the end.

    IL Derby still to come!
