Another "anyone know this horse".. Bocat 1999 chnut raced 2x Turfway: Snipes trained
I have a 13 yr old gelding that is a cherished part of our family and just as loved at the farm where he lives. He is the friendliest kindest soul!
I would love to find out something about his past if anyone knows how I can find out about him. He is so sweet and friendly that we sometimes wonder if he was bottle fed.
Here is what I know:
Bocat 3/8/1999 ch gldg. Jc# 9903832412
By Western Cat out of Belle A'Daire
he was sold 8/2000 to chemphar Inc at Ocala Breeders Sale
Then to Nekia Farm in V ersailles, KY 6/2001
Then to a Jessica Holly in GA 10/2001
I have owned him since 12/2002
I am assuming he went to the track and flunked out summer of 01 and ended up with Jessica Holly probably because he was too lazy to run.
I would live to find out about his life before he came to us so my daughter can know his history as he is really hers ( or she thinks so anyway)
he has a really bad scar on the inside of one of his forelegs between the elbow and the knee from something that must have been very ugly at one time. He has HORRIBLE feet.
He has a home with us for life and he lives a very happy and safe life. I just would love to surprise my daughter with some details if I can get them. Any ideas?

Reason: Added name to title
His breeder is listed at the bottom of the pedigree chart.
On the race charts, you can see the jockey, owner, trainer. Sometimes contacting the breeder can be rewarding. Breeders often enjoy hearing how their babies are doing...it depends on the breeder of course.
You might know all this already, but in case you don't -- my 2 cents.
Best wishes further sleuthing.
PS sometimes owners post the name of the horse in the thread title (you can edit it anytime). that sometimes brings interest from former exercise riders and other racing staff.
Thanks Justa Bob! I appreciate you answering my post.
Lol at that race record. He is quite the lazy boy so that is about what I would have expected to see since he doesn't do anything fast very often!
