On Sunday I found a lovely male hound hiding in our woods. Obviously he's been out since deer season - very under weight and probably needs some vet care. I brought him home and he's in our pen now. We can't keep him - our GS won't let us have another dog. I don't want to take him to the pound - he's an absolute sweetheart and wants a good home. Now that he's eaten a few meals, he comes to the gate to say hi with his tail wagging every time I go down there.
Anyone care to give this guy a home? He's not a foxhound - we have tons of local deer hunters who use hounds so we know he's gotten lost. No collar, no special marking, just a sweetie!
Thanks for trying Darden! Pogo (I named him that because he's bouncing back like a pogo stick) is doing really well. He comes right up to me when I go in to say hi. He's eating well and enjoyed the treat stick I brought home tonight.
Not a coon hound, but thanks for the link. Pretty sure he's used for deer hunting - tons of that around here.
He's getting friendlier by the hour! We're letting him out of the pen to wander around when our GS is inside. He comes (kind of - doesn't run away!) when he's called and loves attention. I think he's gained a couple of pounds and definitely some energy.
