Default Breeding stallions and hip issues.

Any information or experiences on this would be appreciated. I have been told that it is A relatively common occurance for breeding stallions to sustain hip injuries and subsequent arthritic conditions.

Errr...from collecting? If so, that's not been our experience. We currently have several aged stallions that quite happily collect with no issues. Granted, you'll have some that just have age related issues, but those tend to be in the stifles and hocks, more than the hip.

News to me too but having one that has become lame for the past 2 years during breeding season i have been doing some research and found an article that says its not uncommon. I wonder just how common it actually is because I had certainly never heard of it being an issue myself.
