    Smile We have puppies!!

I am very excited to announce that my Heidi had a beautiful litter of 9 pups today, 3 boys and 6 girls.

Its Heidi's first litter and she is being super mom. I couldn't be happier. Everything went very smooth and easy. Did an x-ray last week and got the count right on at 9.

I dock tails at 72 hours at the earliest. I find at that age it's quick and easy, no complaints or issues.

Oh my, I love when they're little puppy lumps! When will they start getting their spots?

So cute! I love GSPs and I would love to have one once my Lab calms down a little. I'm not sure if I could handle 2 high energy dogs in 1 house all the time!

Big congrats! Your Heidi is a very nice bitch. I bred GSHPs for 20 yrs. and they are simply wonderful dogs if people understand their need to exercise. Your puppie photos make me miss my long gone gang. Heidi is colored much like my main brood bitch, Zephyr. Enjoy them and make sure you keep us updated as they get their ticking and the color changes. I can't wait to see how much more different they will look in the next few weeks.

    Default adorable!

can't show this to my SO in fear that his dream of owning a GSP will re-awaken (and that is clearly IMPOSSIBLE since we're strictly an english bull terrier home now ).

How neat! I didn't know they were born without the ticking. (Are other 'ticked' breeds, like cattle dogs, like that too?) Keep us updated with new pictures :-)

    Thank you!

Ticking starts to come in at about a week. I have most of the little guys sold so far, at least 3 show homes too!!! So lucky!

I know that Australian cattle dogs are also born white also

Sooo cute!!! Brittanys are born like that too. You can usually tell a roan from a clear at birth, but other patterns aren't as obvious at first. My dog has a fair amount of ticking now and it was not visible as a baby. And what started out as a "dot" on his cheek ended connecting with the rest of the mask and becoming more of a peninsula. It's fun to watch them change!

Congratulations on a beautiful litter!! Enjoy the babies!!!
