The State Fair of VA has gone bankrupt and all events at the Meadow Event Park (as it's now known) are cancelled until further notice. Apparently everything is in the creditors' hands now.
I really hope it doesn't get sold and bulldozed-- it's such an important piece of horse racing history. Years ago (when it was still an actual farm), I had the privilege of getting a private tour. It was awe inspiring for a horse crazy kid to see.
Hopefully someone will buy it and keep it intact as a horse venue. It'd be such a shame to see it go.
It'll be interesting to see what this means for all the shows that were scheduled there. I know of at least the VA Arabian show and two or three other dressage shows that will probably be looking for new venues.
