Default RIP Davey Jones. Who always lent his name to the horses.

Damn, we lost a good one there. Got his start as a jump jock. Always humble. Always gave back including celebrity steeplechase rides to support second careers for racehorses.

Frack, he was just a little older then me and a serious teen crush I met several times in later life at KHP when he was involved in those celebrity rides. A good and kind guy all around. He did LOVE the horses and wanted to give back what they had done for him. Decent in the irons too.

And his passing was reported by all regular network sources, not horseshowdiva. In fact the drivel they wallow in is not worthy of linking his name to.

I raise a toast to Davey for making me smile to the tune of Cheer Up Sleepy Jean.

Cheers and Godspeed over the bridge on a good and fast horse.

I was such a fan! From all reports, such a genuine good guy. And a horse lover. Need I say more? RIP Davey Jones.

Just heard the news. I fondly remember the TV show and loved the songs. That he was a horse person makes him all the more special.

RIP Davey. You were still a teen idol for me long after the 60's, in the late 80's and early 90's when I was a teen and watched you in re-runs! You will be missed.

RIP Davey, you will be missed. Daydream Believer was my go-to song to sing under my breath whenever I would get nerves jumping a big course!!

I only found out on this morning's news, so sad to hear of his passing. I was a teenager during the group's heyday and of course he was my favorite.

    I too had a crush.

A true horseman, he never forgot the trainer that gave him his start either.
Michael: Seems the people who burned me want me for a job.
Sam: A job? Does it pay?
Michael: Nah, it's more of a "we'll kill you if you don't do it" type of thing.
Sam: Oh. I've never liked those.

    Godspeed, Davey

I gave up a precious teenaged Saturday to usher for free at the theater in Chgo where he was starring in Oliver.
My luck he was replaced by an understudy for that performance

A seriously gorgeous human, just one year my senior. I loved you too Davey Jones. Loved your sense of humor, and that you loved horses. RIP.
