    Default Blanketing help please!!

    Hi everyone,
I am new to COTH, so I apologize if this is already covered somewhere else. I did a quick search and couldn't really find what I needed.

So my questions is regarding the Rambo Duo blanketing system and temperatures.

My TB mare is out during the day and in during the night (the barn can get somewhat cold. She isn't clipped but has been wearing a blanket so far all winter, so her coat isn't that thick.

Will someone please help me with temperature guidelines (we are moving to a new facility and I need to make a laminated sheet for her stall!)

I have the 100 gram fill blanket
    100 gram fill liner
    200 gram fill liner
    300 gram fill liner
hood that attaches to the blanket (not sure of the weight)

At what temperatures would I need each blanket or blanket/liner combo?

I live in Texas and while we haven't had many cold spells, it has been really windy. I just want to be prepared in case it gets really cold here.

    Thank you for your help!!

You'll find this guideline in a few places ...

I have Bucas blankets & they provide their own temperature ranges for the different turnouts - FP has a very dense coat (even clipped) & I find he remains comfortable without applying that 10 degree clipped-horse modifier to the temp guidelines; remember that horses are better equipped to deal with cold than with over-heating.

I have the Rambo Duo...so my blankets are the same as yours.
    100g turnout
    200g liner
    300g liner
    400g liner

This is how I blanket my guy, he does go out 24/7 and is clipped however (live in VA):
    65-55 lightweight sheet (summer one)
    55-45 100g turnout
    45-35 100g turnout w/ 200g liner
    35-25 100g turnout w/ 300g liner
    25 and below 100g turnout w/400g liner

That is how mine is blanketed, however all depends on climiate and weather. Everyone does it differently!
