    Question Buckeye Senior Feed?

Does anyone have experience using this feed? I need to change my older gelding over to a senior feed. It seems the reviews are mixed on Purina; I have access to Nutrena products but I'm not sure there is Triple Crown in my area.

He was eating 1.5 lbs Safe Choice topped with 1/4 cup Platinum oil twice a day but this combination upset his system to the point the vet says we need to make a change. I've taken him off SC/Platinum for now and he's getting Probios to get his system back on track. He gets alfalfa/grass hay twice a day and some "busy hay" at night.

    Thoughts on Buckeye? TIA

Buckeye is a nice quality feed... I wouldn't hesitate to try your gelding on it, although I do prefer Triple Crown Senior because of the lower NSC content.

    Buckeye Senior GC is 21%
    Senior Pelleted is 16.2%
    Senior Textured is 22.5%

    Triple Crown Senior is 11.7%

I'm using plain Buckeye Senior now, and my middle-aged guy is doing well.
He gets 1/3 Senior, 1/3 Buckeye EQ8, and recently added Tri-County Senior (made by McCauley)
