Have to admit I've bought/sold many horses, but I do have 2 that are here permanently. One is the 1st broodmare I bought (I had leased one before her). I've had her since she was 5, and she's 21 now. The other isn't really a horse , but my mini-donk. He's 18, and I've had him since he was 5mos. old
My boarder has 2 that I hope will be "with me" forever. A paint gelding that is 31, and she's had him since he was 2, and a mustang mare that's 28 and has been hers since she was 3.

I just lost my oldest, Rollicking Cat (aka "Sly?) a week ago. She was the last of my original 4 broodmares, all of whom lived out there lives here long after my breeding program stopped. She was 30 and had been suffering a series of small strokes for the last 8 months -- the last one disabled her too much and I had to let her go. Still have 9 others who will also be here forever. All except 1 are homebreds...my "family".
