Default Markel / USEF YH Dressage Training Session in Georgia

The 1st day of the Markel / USEF YH Training Session in Georgia was held today at Shannondale Farm in Alpharetta, GA. The session was led by Scott Hassler, the USEF YH Dressage Coach and included 10 riders with horses aged 4-6 who are preparing for 2012 FEI Young Horse Compeition. Here is a link to a photo of Scott, Hallye Griffin, the USEF National Dressage Program Director, and the riders (listed below).

I was impressed with the caliber of the horses and riders and Scott's coaching style is exceptional. This is the first in a series of Markel/USEF Young Horse Dressage Training Sessions that are open to the public. I would strongly encourage trainers, riders, owners and breeders of young dressage horses to audit one of these sessions if you have the chance.

The Young Horse training session was exceptional !!! The horses were ages 4-6 and the riders were a combination of well-skilled Adult Amateurs and Professionals.... lots of talent at the training session. It was very meaningful to experience the coaching methods of Scott Hassler. EVERY rider experienced his support and encouragement and his keen eye that enabled him to tune into the specific training needs of the horse & rider partnership. And, Scott has a way of filling in the details so that auditors can truly relate and gain tips that they can use in their journey with their young horses.

That's nice, but how much did it cost to audit ?

There's one session in California next month, and I can tell you
no one around here knows a thing about it (so far).

It was $50 to audit, and worth every penny. Scott is an incredibly teacher and person...we all learned so much from him. Plus, we got to see some exceptional young horses and riders.
