    Default Recent good movies?

Anyone see anything in particular worth checking out?

I wasn't terribly in love with War Horse although I did like The Help and Crazy, Stupid, Love despite being reluctant for both.

Ryan Gosling's dark film Drive was unexpectedly more violent than I anticipated. Good but just very bloody in fact more so than Devil's Double which was good, an overlooked 2011 release, yet rather violent as expected.

The Help has been my favorite since I saw it. DH and I really enjoyed [I]Unstoppable[I], too. We went to see Safehouse this past weekend. It was okay, but not fantastic. Smething about the cinematography was bothersome to me...too close?...lots of movement? I had a hint of that woozy sort of feeling I get when watching a video someone has made while driving down the road.

The Double. It's on PPV and Netflix. A good espionage/political thriller staring Richard Gere. It's a lot like The Jackal, a movie that he did back in the 90's.

Oooo I'll be Netflix'ing The Double then! LOVE Jackal, one of my favorites. Oh course, double-whammy of Bruce Willis (dreamy sigh) and Gere.

SO and I went to see The Grey. I screamed twice, in a full theater, when no one else did, and I didn't really like the ending, but it was well-done movie.

Tinker, Tailor was great, as was The Help. In theaters, you might also like The Descendants and The Artist.

Last weekend, we went to see a bunch of the Oscar nominated shorts, and when they eventually show up on Netflix, I'd really recommend The Shore, Raju (live action), and Saving Faces (docu).
