Default Judge Natalie Lamping Talks About Rath and Totilas

Interesting analysis about the problems Rath had with Totilas at their recent exhibition.

Interesting. Compare what she says about the horse having to learn to WAIT, and the Edward Gal masterclass on H&C. I just re-watched it today and I think it shows a bit the confident, consistent, methodical approach he has, including teaching the horse to wait for his rider.

    Methodical is a GREAT word.

Gal seems very methodical in his riding... And anyone beneath that level on that caliber of horse will have that little delay in decisions about whats best...

    Learning under fire!

I just did a blog on that Because it seems whenever a horse is being... er a horse... or MORE horse anyway... It makes you really man up and ride... Or things go wonky quick and in a hurry.

Esdressage, in that video Gal says
"It's matter of the rider and the horse. It's not only the horse and not only the rider. It'a match. A good horse doesn't have to be a very good horse for another rider. It has to fit."

Now we're seeing just how true that is.
