I do a 7 layer dip in a plastic lined oval shaped bowl. Seal the bottom with more beans, then chill. Before serving, invert, mold ends into pointy footbal shape, remove plastic wrap, pipe laces and stripes with sour cream and voila! Foot ball Beandip!
I love dips, Spinach and artichoke is great, I melt 2 bricks cream cheese, add a handful of parmesan, a jar of chopped marinated artichoke hearts, a cup of defrosted squeezed spinach, and old bay or Tony's.
A brick of velveeta and a quart of homemade chili melted together is amazing.
Small jalapeno cheddar corn muffins are great with chili

Take ready made thin crust pizza dough (Pillsbury makes a good one), roll it out and lay cheese and meat slices on it in lines. I like using good italian meats like salami. Roll the whole thing up so that one bite will get you some of everything and cut a few vents into the top. Pop it into the oven and bake according to dough package. You may need to add a few more minutes so the inside dough cooks, but you might be fine.
It's very fast (like 5 min prep + baking time) so you can make it while people are there and have it hot. Cut it into slices and serve with ranch or marinara dips.

- cucumber boats
- guacamole-veggie dip
- raspberry balsamic meatballs (sound gross, but they're always the first things gone)
- dr. pepper chicken wings
- cheddar-beer dip
and then the usual assortment of sliced veggies, crackers, nacho chips, etc. I'm still looking for a few more things to make since I think there's going to be a bigger crowd than last year and I don't want to have to run to the convenience store for chips and dip at halftime again!
1 can corn drained
1 can black beans rinsed
1 green bell pepper diced
1 tomatoe diced
1 white onion diced
1 packet Good Seasons Dressing prepared or equal amount of another good oil and vinegar Italian dressing
Season with lime juice and cilantro (fresh or dried)
Serve with Scoops Tortilla Chips
just toss the bite size smoked sausages (Little Smokies or other brand) in a slow cooker with your favorite BBQ sauce. Not too much sauce...I used Baby Rays last time, total success. same with the meatballs. Naturally you can go fancy and make your own.
I like the choice of veggies and ranch dip though, for the cravings of something fresh...

1 lb lump crab meat
1 8 oz brick cream cheese
1 cup mayo
2 tsp Old Bay
1/4 tsp ground mustard
1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Let cream cheese out to get very soft, mix with mayo, old bay, and ground mustard. Add crab meat and toss gently. Spread in a baking dish, sprinkle with cheese (I use more than 1/4 cup) and additional Old Bay if desired. Bake for 30ish minutes...just until hot and bubbly.
My favorite thing to eat it with is bagel crisps, but any good bread would do.
