Y'all are so petty. Let's talk about something really important: why does he still use a noseband with white padding?

It's THE thing...check out the top 3 horses that won the Freestyle...they all sported nosebands with white padding.

    Default Question

Is it mean to make fun of someone for things they can't control, such as their inherited looks?

Or can we only make fun of people for what they do to themselves, eat too much and like get fat?

    Just wondering.

I am an equal opportunity belittler! Actually, I have more sympathy for the fat people...I don't know if you are aware of this, but donut assault is a growing concern...donuts jump into peoples mouths when they are least expecting it...it is hard to fight off their sugary glazed fury.

I think he looks great--fit, strong, healthy, great smile.

Conventionally handsome, no, but I've never been that impressed by conventionally handsome.

My point was that yes, it is really mean to make fun of someone for something they have no choice about. You can disparage his riding, his horse, or his teaching, but imagine if someone posted something like that about you.

What is that supposed to mean, anyway, that you have more sympathy for fat people than for people who aren't conventionally good looking?

Oh good! That means the ones I was too cheap to stop using and buy new when they went out of style are coming back into vogue!

I agree that one should not make fun of someone for something they can't help or for something they do to themselves. You never know the ture story behind the faces you look into. You only can truly see the real story behind the face in the mirror. Burden yourself in making that a good story and let others write their own.

I've seen this statement before, but on the wrong thread...

I can see some similarities, but don't think that's something to make fun of particularly. It just is to me - and there are all kinds of odd similarities between people imagined and made up that to me are observations, not judgments. What matters to me is all I've seen of professionalism and talent and kindness.

I'd imagine he'd say, "Excellent" if you said it to him. Mike Plumb was teased about riding "roach backed"...he replied, "Beat me then". Guys really don't care and have a sense of humour about themselves.

Now how about Geo. Morris's comments to delicate out of shape fat flowers he deals with...now that's fun to watch.
