Default Hunter stallion with over fence records for progeny

Lots of hunter stallions out there... And lots of their foals doing really well in confo classes and such...

Wondering if we can do a thread who has sired those with records over fences?

No longer living, but Absolut' had babies that did well in both line and performance classes.

    Thumbs up WESTPORTE

My now five year old gelding West Hampton did very well on the line and is excelling over the jumps. The best part is he never changes... went like a pro at his first show in May right to the IHF finals in Kentucky where he was the Overall 4 Year old International Champion some 4 months later.
The IHF took place in September, and he went to his first show since then on Jan 7th and was champion in the pre-greens. He had only been back in consistent work for 3 weeks.

Check out his awesome progression in the videos. He is so quiet and easy that I am planning to show him in Aiken this March in the A/A's 50+ after not showing since Capital Challenge 2010. I had to get another Westporte!

does ROC USA not have a show record?
He seems so popular yet he doesn't pull up records via USEF

A Fine Romance competed very successfully in the hunter ring (Working Hunter) and has a number of offspring showing in the hunter ring as well.
Most are in Canada, so do not show up on US records.

AFR is an amazing athlete and so are his offspring. They are willing, uncomplicated, and talented. I had the pleasure of owning a gelding by AFR and he was the real deal.

Had? Did you sell your Handsome?

Ragtime seems to be doing fairly well out here on the West Coast, at least the ones I have seen. Seems some of the trainers are investing in his offspring and enjoy them. All the ones I have seen can surely move and jump.

Yes I did PP. Handsome is living the dream! I do miss him and I have to say that from day 1 he was so brave and wanted to please!

The fact is... AFR is such an elegant and regal TB that crossed with a WB mare you have to get something wonderful. He is one of Canada's best and more should look at using him.

My Sir Caletto was a terrific baby green and had a very respectable first PreGreen show in Ocala

frankly? I could not afford to keep showing her and as she is gorgeous, moves great and is athletic as all get out - I decided to move her to the breed shed!

Reality sucks but without buckets of $$ ? I didn't want to sell her so it may be that some of the great offspring of some stallions are in the breed shed.

Furthermore - some stallions bred a lot of mares - some a few. So percentage wise, hard to tell if a "few" from many is as good as a " few" from a few.

Too many variables in this country affect the outcomes

And "NOMIOMI1": as an old lady, your sign on makes my eyes bleed - all those caps!

Roc USA does not have a show record. Although immensely talented, his owner didn't have the finances to campaign him. She decided to prove him through his offspring. Happily, his get are doing exceptionally well.

    Default Balt'Amour

Balt'Amour's oldest are just coming three but in December his son Bragging Rights MF won the 2 year old finals championship at the SCF YHS at WEF. He also won on the line as a yearling. The picture in the middle is a a Balt'Amour son who will be starting on the line as a yearling soon.
I think it is important to look at consistancy as well as the the few offspring who win. I'm really happy with what Balt'Amour is producing because they are all beautiful and all athletic. Even though we only have six on the ground here every one is black or bay and just what we wanted regardless of the mare.

Tish Quirk's stallions have a great deal of successful offspring, as does Alla Czar.

Rio Grande seems a very safe bet for giving you a show hunter, although he can throw giants, so would not use him on a large, old style mare.

Apiro's son, Apyro, is competing in the 3'3" AOs with Summer this year. He is an import from Apiro's first foal crop in Germany. Apiro's oldest foal crop in North America are turning 3 this year, so Apyro is the only old enough to be out there doing his thing, but Apiro is back in the ring competing!

Here are some North American based stallions who have had offspring in the hunter ring during the last couple of years (please correct me if I excluded or included someone inappropriately on the list).

Balta'Czar has offspring showing in the Hunters - often with their re-rider or Ammie owners.

My oldest (I have 2 BC kids) is 4 this year and will hopefully debut over fences by late summer.

showjumper can tell you for sure, but I thought I read Apiro was only available frozen this year? Correct me if I'm wrong...

And I'm pretty sure Popeye only does frozen unless I'm just remembering that from when he was showing. That may have changed since he's not actively campaigning.
