    Default Water Trough in Winter

Okay, this may sound dumb, but how do you clean an aluminum water trough in winter? The trough is in the paddock, so I can't drain it as the water will freeze. But the trough is pretty nasty and needs a good scrubbing. Any suggestions?

Let the horses drink it almost dry, then you won't have so much to drain or dump. Then scrub and refill as usual.

Yeah, I try to balance it with enough that it won't freeze too soon and little enough that he can drink it down in a couple days. Rubbermaid troughs are your friend in the winter...
