Trainers to Break 3yr Old Hunter Prospects in md or va
I am looking for somewhere to send my horse out for some training. He has already been backed but I am having a hard time staying consistent with riding and ground work due to time at this moment. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know her personally, but when I was looking for someone to restart a young racehorse, Jean came highly recommended by someone whose opinion I value.

Jenn does great work with horses, I rode with her for a number of years. She's very honest and gives really great feedback about how your horse is doing and what areas need particular work. I know she's recently been working with a number of young ones so I think she would be a really good option. You really can't go wrong with Jenn.

Clem
Clem at Applegarth Farm in Manakin-Sabot, VA.
I'm pretty sure that he is still there. He did a really good job with my friend's mare a few years back. Mare has since been re-sold to a kid who is showing her now on the local circuit.

I have been very impressed with Jenn Tirrell the last couple of months that I've known her. A very compassionate rider and seems to be great with young and green horses.

I used Dave Butts in Maryland to break my 2 year old warmblood. Sent her to him for 90 days and he did a wonderful job (and she was easy). Turned her out after that and the following year I sent her to Olin.
I would use Olin and Jason Berry for "finishing" - they are going to be a lot more expensive too. If you need your horse broken, use a trainer that specializes in that. If you need one to get yours to the show ring or close to that point, Olin and Jason are the best in Virginia.

putting this out there in case someone searches so there isn't just a PM to the OP
Shawn Thomas in Culpeper. Has a bunch of impressive names he has started horses for (both racehorses and hunters/jumpers) Worked for Matt Collins at the Mane Farm and is very good at, not only breaking/starting, but starting a horse over fences and developing good form over fences (good bascule, correct front end, with a hind end that produces a good finish), not just "getting them around" and comfortable.

Olin does have a specialty in breaking the babies. My friend has used him to break all of hers.
