    Default Riding vacation - Ireland

Looking into going on a riding vacation in Ireland. Husband does not want to ride but one group is telling me it will be $900 for him. What confuses me is the single supplement is $135.
When asked I was told that was for the non-riding day and his breakfast meals.
Economically speaking that does not add up.
Looking for some feedback from someone that has actually taken one of these trips.

Mr P and i went to Ieland in 2003 and did a week with http://www.irishhorseriding.com/page.php?page=Trail Itinerary

I rode, he rented a car and played golf, worked out well.
As far as the riding it's a nose to tail trail ride but I wasn't looking for anything challenging
    I wasn't always a Smurf

I assume you are referring to one of the package tours?

If I were you, I'd go freelance. In other words, pick a nice town where you can go ride and your husband can go play golf/hike/read whatever he wants to do. Just contact the farms where riding is hosted yourself. You'll get a better rate and can do it on your own time and terms.

Have fun! Ireland is wonderful and the riding is great. Do a search on these forums, there's been a lot of threads.
