Default The "Dressage Curmudgeon" Goes to a Full Training Barn

    Latest blog.

    http://dressagecurmudgeon.blogspot.com/

    Excerpt:

Frau Trainerin greeted us warmly and helped me to organize my crap, that was all fine, and barn staff made appropriate comments about the cuteness of the Platypus. Then the tour of "the horses much better than the Platypus" began.

Now to me, this is totally normal. You could walk into a barn full of three-legged critters with their heads screwed on backwards, and the owner would begin regaling you with the life and times of each special and awesome creature in their care. How they can split the atom with their anus or some other incredible feat that makes them worth 500x their value as meat. We are horse people. That's what we do.

I am REALLY enjoying the blog. I enjoy having the ridiculous I suspect most of us in some way, shape or form live being poked at in a humorous way. And advice and lessons learned from someone who has been where I hope to go on top of that? Awesome. It's one of the first blogs in my blog reader I check for most days now. Thanks for posting the link to the one making fun of this board (and others) so I could find it!

"And so, off she rode... and finally, I got it. I really GOT IT. It clicked. BEND = WIG. COUNTER BEND = WAG. Now continue on in rhythm. Wig-Wag-Wig-Wag. Horse curled up like a snail and "no-no-no'ed" its way around the arena."

I'm definitely a fan of the humor!

There are many bits and pieces of great advice in there, too, if you only care to read.

I'm finding it interesting - apparently there are people on the UDBB outing themselves as specific people to whom she's referring. Really, do you need to do that? And do you actually know for sure? I'm taking her references as often charicatures and exaggerations meant to make it more entertaining...

netg - yup, outing themselves despite the fact that the events described in most of her earlier posts happened back in the early 2000's (in other words, so long ago that nobody in a million years would've figured out who the players were except for the few players themselves).

Read the UDBB thread she's referring to! http://www.ultimatedressage.com/foru...p?f=9&t=219002

Dressage Curmudgeon is so right about so many things, especially the most recent posts about buying/selling horses. It makes me laugh and roll my eyes at the same time.
