Default Newbie needs some bit help!

I shouldn't say newbie because I evented when I was in my teens, but have mostly stuck to the hunter/jumper circuit since a bad accident. ANYWAY. My gelding (who loves eventing as I discovered this past summer) has a very big fat tongue. As in, even with a simple D ring KK his tongue is so big it pokes out the side of his lips. I'm looking for bit suggestion that are legal for dressage. For jumping, he goes in the myler 33 barrel mouthpiece, and he honestly loves the mouthpiece, but I doubt it is legal for dressage. (I have the level 3 version with the hooks) Any suggestions? (or please tell me they have approved that mouthpiece without the hooks!!)

Myler has many legal bits (I use a comfort snaffle with a Boucher setup)

Another thing to try is leather, which is legal http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com...le-320661.html

For some horses, the curved JP helps: http://www.adamshorsesupplies.com/JP...Bit-P4581.aspx
OTTBs rule, but spots are good too!

I agree, there is a Myler bit that is legal for dressage that is okay for horses with bigger tongues: it's the Myler Comfort Snaffle (no hooks). I personally love the bit, my late gelding liked it too! Good for the horses with very sensitive tongues.

I've had very good success with the Nathe for fat tounge low palate. I used the Myler w/hooks as the horse trial jumping bit for one of the horses that went well in the Nathe for D and at home jumping.
