I am finally home and trying to get caught up (10 days in the hospital was NOT how I envisioned starting 2012!).

At any rate, here is my list of stallions lost in 2011:
    Caretino (January)
    For Pleasure (February)
    Master 850 (March)
    Hennessey (April)
    The Pride of Gloster (April)
    Landfriese II (April)
    Espri (June)
    Rohdiamant (June)
    Weltmeyer (June)
    Relampago de Retino (June)
    Willemoes (June)
    Wolkenstein II (July)
    Warkant (July)
    Linaro (August)
    Master Huntsman (August)
    World Magic (August)
    Triple Twist (August)
    Wonderful (August)
    Quick Star (August)
    Finley M (August)
    Cassini II (September)
    Coriander (September)
    All the Gold (September)
    Clearway (October)
    Sandro Song (October)
    The Alchemist (October)
    Hickstead (November)
    Animo (November)
    Brandenburg's Windstar (December)
    Comet Shine (December)

I think Impressionist and Rainbow also passed in 2011. I do not know the months, but I believe it was sometime in spring or early summer for both of them.

    Default Frozen...

I think it would mean a lot to know if these stallions passed but that they left frozen that is usable...or to not bother looking because there is none or it wasn't able to get mares in foal. I just lost my own stallion but we have a small amount of frozen that will carry on and I know that means a lot to me and my breed. PatO

Instead of having its own sticky, the moderators have suggested that we add a post to the reference thread on top that IS stickied.

It wouldn't be my first choice for how to keep a running annual list of deceased stallions, but it would work if people remembered that it was there.

Just heard that Eurocommerce Singapore died today. Apparently, complications upon waking up from gelding surgery... still thought he deserved to be remembered.
I got to see him at the Eurocommerce Stallion Show in 2009.

Today the stallion Ugano Sitte had to be put down due to a fractured leg...

Willemoes will be sadly missed around here He was such an up and comer for Canadian breeders.

The offspring of all these stallions will continue their great names....to greener pastures and feilds of glory.

I don't know how common it is but our own 4/5year old kwpn stallion herniated after a very routine gelding last year. If it was not for a quick catch and the vet still being on the property I am certain he would have been lost.

Huge condolences to Daniel and everyone at Horse of Belgium . Ugano was a fantastic stallion.
