We are still missing our boy Gloster, (The Pride of Gloster) but I brought his last filly born home today, a filly named GlosterAnn and I have to say it makes me sad and happy to see Glosters face around the farm again : (
RIP Gloster

This is such a nice thread - a tribute to all of the wonderful stallions who have contributed so much. I have a For Pleasure grandchild just sold and have another due in May. The Fuerst Gotthard daughters and (a few) sons are winning jumper classes all over the country so he really made a contribution. The jumping gene for scope and desire to jump almost always have come through in the Fuerst Gotthards. The is what makes me proud to be a breeder, even a small potatoes breeder.

Lost my young black Irish Draught stallion Shamrock's Irish Mocha RID in January 2012. We have some frozen and hope for good results with it this season.
Also we lost the 23 yo Irish Draught stallion Hangon Johnny RID in October 2011. He was happy out with his mares and will have 2 more purebred offspring this summer and a handful of Irish Sport foals as well.

I am so sorry Pat - you have lost two magnificent stallions - I would like you to know that a man that bought one of Glosters 2008 fillys (KA Clover) has gotten into driving and searched all over for her set-match and he has bought a Hang on Johnny mare as her pair and they are now driving together - they are quite spectacular! I learned recently that Elite Hanoverian stallion Anhaltiner E (Akzent II/Pik Bube), who stood at Some Day Soon Farm (owned by AHS VP Suzanne Quarles) in Maryland, died suddenly (at 20) several months ago. He sired very athletic offspring, of which I am fortunate to own 2. See http://www.somedaysoonfarm.com/pages%20new/anhalt.html

I'm so sorry for your loss, Tasker. I know how much you loved him from reading your posts about him. Wishing you comfort in his foals and memories.

Deepest condolences to you and all of your family and herd. You've always made it clear how central he was in your lives. What a huge hole he leaves, but he will always have a presence through his descendants.
