So my dilemma, I recently purchased a wonderful new saddle at a very good price. Fits me perfectly and I am in love with it. Now the bad news, it is about half an inch to a full inch too long for my mares back. We didn't realize it at the time of purchase which I am really kicking myself over because I should have known better. But it is what it is.
I do have a jumping saddle that fits her so I'm not riding in a poorly fitted saddle. But the jump saddle is terrible for my position unless I have the stirrups in their proper jump length which doesn't do much for our dressage.
So does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this or am I completely hosed? I've thought about putting a too short shaped pad underneath to maybe bring the weight more forward. Would that work, or am I just crazy?
