    Default Law and Order-Criminal Intent

Has anyone else ever seen the 2004 episode called Ill Bred?

It is absolutely hilarious, though it was probably not intended to be.

It starts with a vet being murdered at a barn when she stops by to check a horse at night. The plot goes on to include every bad soap opera cliche of life among the horsey set you've ever heard, all scrambled together at the same time.

It is a laugh riot. Check your local listings- I just saw it today for the first time, and according to www.IMDB.com it will be on again this Saturday.

This was more about one family and their show horses- their own staff, international travel to competitions, quarantine at Newburgh on return, mom and daughter both showed jumpers, etc.

I know there was at least one horsey episode on the original version of Law and Order during the Jerry Orbach era, but that plotline was restrained to one thing ripped from the headlines- not enough US Weekly twists thrown together in one hour for 10 Dick Francis books.

There was one L&O where they hid diamonds in the uterus of a show jumper (I think), causing a pyometra. I think the horse was killed because they thought it might have attacked the lady found dead in its stall - on an airplane maybe?

That's a different one from the episode I was thinking of- I guess over 20 years, they got around to horses a few times.

There was also the episode where the jockey was murdered, because he figured out that the horse he was exercising was actually a much better horse, and it turned out the owner had embezzled the millions for the horse from the family company's pension fund.

Is this the one where the wifey cut holes in her hubby's condoms so BO he was messing with would get preggers, wifey could blackmail, dump hubby, and go buy her big fancy farm?

    Yup, happens all the time.

L&O CI is my favorite, favorite show...L&O next.

The only thing I dislike is when they drive upstate to do further investigation, and all of us are wearing our overalls and have pieces of hay coming out of our mouths. Reckon...

Yes, CVPeg. Don't forget they were also smuggling drugs in the horses. That was a very busy barn!

Don't you wear your overalls around the farm? I do! Not.
