Default Renegade Hoof Boots with studs

Anyone have an opinion on these for ice? Interested in how these are for trail riding on varied terrain -- paved roads to woods to fields to mud, etc.

We have regular Renegades and like them, though we rarely use them since horse's feet can handle the footing on our usual rides.

    Thanks!

I have a pair too but have not used them too much since my girls feet a pretty good. I use them when the roots are bad or there is a lot of gravel we have to be on. I haven't tried the studs yet.

I have them, and they make a noticeable difference when the footing is slippery. I find them useful or both snow/ice and really slick grass. I don't use them often, but they're nice to have.

Be careful on pavement - they're actually more slippery than the regular ones. I only use mine when I know there could be some tricky spots - I wouldn't substitute them for day to day riding.

I'm sure if you call Kurt at Renegade, he can tell you what they recommend.

I have the boots with the studs and they are slippery on pavement and boulders. (we have some boulders that are flat in our area on some of our trails.). The seem worse on the boulders. I now go around them if possible. And I would only ride at a walk on pavement.

Has anyone ever tried using the studs that are available for easyboots with Renegades? I have a pair of worn Renegades that I am thinking of trying that with.

Are they more slippery on pavement than normal iron shoes?
