Default Really? REALLY?!?! Stupid ad of day.

This was just sent to me by a dear friend:

Riding in a bikini top is never a good idea, but I don't really see anything wrong with the ad. She might of exaggerated a couple things in the description, but he looks healthy and in good weight, and doesn't appear to be over-faced or hating his work.

Just trying to appeal to the men looking I guess lol

I mean, what does a bikini clad chick have to do with a Budweiser? or a Carls Jr Sandwich or dental floss, or whatever they use them to attempt to sell. "Funtime" sells.

I agree with this statement. Also, he is not technically a warmblood- just an athletic draft cross. He sure is cute, but probably worth about 10k less, unless he has absolutely spectacular movement and incredible potential.

I'm thinking actual fox hunters might get into that ballpark for him IF he hacks out well.

I was the opposite - I read the ad and looked at all the pictures, and couldn't figure out what the problem was until I came back here, read past the first post, and went back to look at the ad a second time. And it STILL took me a minute or two to see it.

Not how I would present a horse for sale, but not really such a big deal either, in my opinion.

I'm tired of people calling their draft crosses, 'Warmbloods'. Especially when it seems they do so to ask a ridiculous price for the horse. That is not a 25k dollar horse no matter what breed.

(And really? Get a shirt!) So trashy.

Maybe she's selling the horse because she can't afford a shirt.

Come on now, ladies & gents - she does have some pics w/shirt & he seems like a good soul if no raving beauty or 10 mover and most certainly not WB.
Either those are some truly lousy pics or she is delusional re: pricing.
    $25K for draftX unproven baby?

    p.s.
I did like the full-on nose shot

All I see is how freaking thin she is and her flat abs!! My spare tire would kill a sales ad like that if I were to ride in a bikini top. To each his own really. If she thinks that is an acceptable photo then that's her.
I too agree that the horse does not reflect that price and I too am tired of draft crosses being passed off as warmbloods. I had a new boarder years ago move in with a new horse she bought from a "dealer" the horse was 17.2, chestnut with flaxen mane and tail and had it's feathers shaved. She was sold a "Belgian Warmblood". As he was here and his feathers started growing out, I told her that he was more than likely a Belgian draft cross since he did not come with papers, apparently they were lost. Plus his hoof size was indicative to that of a draft. Farrier agreed. At least in this ad she does say he is a draft cross.

It doesn't bother me, and maybe the ride was a onetime thing, "please ride my horse for a sales ad, please, please."
And they are in Florida. There are days in NY and Pa that are SO hot and so disgusting I would gladly ride in a bikini if it wouldn't give me blisters and scare the children.

    Default Geez.

    I'd kill for her leg.

And her stomach, let's be serious.

And her horse is pretty cute, too. not 25k cute, but certainly cute. He sounds like a doll, too!

I'm with you. I also didn't see what the big deal was until I came back here and relooked at the pics and saw the bikini. As someone else said, it isn't how I would write a sales ad, but if he is a decent mover and has the potential she describes, he could be worth it... I really don't think it is worth public ridicule. I live in GA and when I was a teenager I had a trainer that insisted we all wore breeches, tall boots, and our hair in hair nets under our helmets, but in the summer we could wear bikini tops with our breeches, boots and hair nets because it was 110 with the heat index.
