Default Nothing says Merry Christmas like a good War movie...

Seems to be a theme, every holiday TV schedules a round of war movies.

    Today it's Band of Brothers.
I am actually surprised that Midway and such were not on the list this year.

The Hollywood slate of classic war movies are undergoing comprehensive restoration for HD, Blu-Ray, and future theatrical exhibitions right now so you'll see them again in a few years.
Thus do we growl that our big toes have,
at this moment, been thrown up from below!

WoW! I had old Judy Garland movies and a few Bing Crosby ones... not to mention almost 24 hours of "Christmas Story". you need to get a different cable or satellite company....

Weekends = westerns, holidays = war movies. I guess the menfolk need some boy-centric R&R after their long work weeks and all that holiday prep they do... ha.

I actually missed The Christmas Story.
But in my defense I used the TV to listen to Christmas music....not that I don't have a bazillion on my computer....

In the past I had bets with Mr Ala on what movie would be on TV: Midway or D-Day, or Tora Tora Tora...or that other one with the tank unit, the name escapes me all the time. It has Peter Shaw as German tank commander in it.

Oh, Sands of Ivo Jima is also a staple...

Then again, I suppose there needs to be some balance to all the sugary Christmas stuff....BTW, I had not seen a one movie I wanted to see this year...
I think I need to find this movie on DVD for my mushy winter holiday moods....
