Default Showing / Training - liability

If I own the show horse and have a trainer, riding and training and a rider, riding and showing - how does one ensure that the owner isn't liable if anything should happen when riding or showing? We are all good friends and I want it to stay that way and be safe.

Are there 2 scenarios; 1 for riding on my property (private not a business) and 1 for shows?

    Enlighten me please.

In general, the owner IS liable for any damage the horse does.

That is why there are releases and insurance.
