Default No Canadian Rider sent to the Young Rider World Cup?

Does anyone know why we didn't send a rider to the Young Rider World Cup this year? I'm not familiar with the qualification process or the requirements, but we have plenty of teams to choose from. ie. Megan Lane and Caravella, etc.

Can someone shed some light on this?

I decided to send an email to Dressage Canada asking why there was no Canadian Young Rider attending the Young Rider World Cup, and apparently it was simply because no one applied, which is really too bad. You'd think that they would send an email or something out to possible Young Rider's before the qualification period ended to remind them of the looming 'due date' if no one had applied.

Just figured I'd update anyone who was interested.

Do they contribute to the expenses? I know that is a limiting factor for many.

As far as I know in the past (not 100% sure this year) the shipping of the non-European horse is covered by Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff. She paid for the American and Australian horse transport.

So how do young riders apply, and where can they find qualifying critiera? Do they also have a world championship at the FEI junior level?

You apply (at least if you're Canadian, it may be different for other countries) by submitting your two highest Young Rider freestyle scores. The Canadian Qualifying criteria is located here:

No, there is no world championship for Juniors.
