Its with a really heavy heart that I put this out there to see if there is any interest.
I own an 05 chestnut TB gelding. He has been off the track for approximately 2-3 years, with little done to him. Since purchasing him, he has made HUGE leaps and we've put quite a bit of weight on him, although he still is not 100% up to optimal weight. Before coming home to my house for the winter he was at my trainer's doing lessons to intermediate riders and up. Beginning to school 2'3"
My reason for rehoming is that he has a sinus infection. Our first round of treatment was with SMZ's and Gentocyn. Well, that treatment was finished and the infection is back.
The next step is sinus surgery. I will be consulting with my vet on Monday to be sure that this is our next step but in having to deal with this type of illness before, I am very sure that this is the course of action.
The problem is that I just had major surgery 2 weeks ago, and I will be unable to care for him after the surgery.
I am putting out the feelers because I simply cannot take care of him.
He is a very sweet horse, sensitive but sensible. Would be best suited for an intermediate to advanced rider who understands a TB. He has a gorgeous trot and canter, a HUGE stride and is very willing undersaddle.
I have grown very attached to him but unfortunately I'm stuck.
I'm hoping there is someone out there looking for a nice horse and willing to put the time into the surgery and aftercare.
I'll find some better pics but here is one of him with my 4 year old on him. (I would not let a child "ride" him, but for leadline rides he is a perfect gentleman).
