What a shock! His 2012 fee had even been announced, yet the farm obviously knew he was battling cancer....

I always love it when a horse with a non fashionalbe pedigree goes from $10k to $75k and revitalizes that branch of the sire line.

Mr. P stood for $5k or $10k in Florida his first year or two, and Dynaformer was also a cheap stud at the beginning.

RIP Indian Charlie. You will be missed.

I'm really shocked! I guess it's because he was only 16.

Along with his other nice babies in the past, it would be a fitting tribute for Ever So Lucky to have a banner 2012.

    RIP.

His stud fee was announced before they knew he was sick, and they didn't know that it was cancer until last week.

revitalizes that branch of the sire line

    Which branch would that be?

Marvelous horse he was. Be at peace, I.C.

Indian Charlie and his sire were/are both notorious for precocity AND less than stellarly sound racehorses.

Poor Charlie. I saw him in 2006 and he was suffering from EPM then. He was really neurologic.

Indian Charlie never had EPM. He was was a type of wobbler and had cervical compression. And by 2006 he was in pretty good shape, showing very little neurologic signs.

My mistake on the EPM, but he looked pretty shaky in June 2006, IMHO.

His major problems were in 2000, but he probably always had some residual effects. Very sad to lose him as the breed needs more outcross stallions and he did pass on a lot of brilliance.
